Coppers for Karma

Band History - Sharing a mutual passion for music, and through being thrown into a rather odd situation in Canada working as session musicians, Richard Howard and Andy Hill began forming 'Coppers for Karma' in the late summer of '06, then fate led them to the perfect drummer in Wojciech Hydzik in early '07, through the interweb.

Future plane - Touring, writing songs, playing as much as possible, meeting interesting people, making some cash
Type of Music - 'A hot mouthful of upbeat driving funkbilly'
Recent news - currently putting together a production deal with a Hoxton promoter, gigging around London and beyond.

Jezabel

Band history
What would become Jezebel, began in late oct 2006, in Derby/Nottingham, as an ill fated project called A.O.D (Act of defiance). AOD split before it ever got off the ground, but THE one positive that came from that was frontman/founder Jay's chance encounter with Mansfield based Lead guitarest Dan.

Relocating the band to Jay's hometown of Sheffield in Feb 2007, they immediately recruited Paul- who collaborated with Jay back in 2005 in a 3 piece semi-accoustic project named Crimson tearz- back on board. After rehearsing various time-wasters, the band added gifted bassist Matt before finally, in June 2007, veteren drummer Steve Bright. Late 2007, Steve expressed a desire to follow his own pursuits, (having spent 20 years doin the whole band thing) so Jezebel recruited 18 yr old hard hitting drummer Drudd to the fold and, when lifestyle conflicts forced Matt to quit the band the following month, Jezebel added the out and out rock bass player they always wanted in 19 year old Mark Sinkinson.

The band played their debut gig on July 23rd, headlining a bill of four bands at Sheffield's well known Under The Boardwalk venue and in the subsequent 4 months played 17 gigs at venues such as Junktion 7, the boardwalk, The grapes, The Leopard, Trash and Sheffield's Corporation nightclub supporting the dogs d amour.

The bands aim is quite simple- to write timeless, decadent rock n roll anthems, reminiscent of 'a time when Heavy music was about long hair, motorbikes and having a good time, rather than a miserable spotty geek with a mountain bike and more issues than a broadsheet newspaper' to paraphrase Jay's own words, but at the same time find their own sound rather than being one of numerous imitators.

More than that though it was a desire to stay true to our own musical values and beliefs... ie, not be a rock n roll band that dilutes/mixes our sound with current trends (be it Emo, nu-metal, Green day crap or whatever), but to be an out rock 'n' roll band with a large foot in the blues, punk and old skool metal influences and an unpretentious, poser-free 'in yer face' style.
Love us... hate us... we are what we are... ourselves- nothin less, nothin more- end of... 'A heavier, modern day cross between AC/DC and Guns n Roses'... 'Good solid grungy Blues' (Surenuff records, Birmingham)
19th of Jan saw Jezebel's first gig of 2008 at the Appleby in Burton-on-Trent, a great venue with a real RnR vibe to it. Fri 1st of Feb see's us enter the studio to re-record some of our songs to replace the rough demos on our profiles, and hopefully record some new ones.
